Join Our Family-Centered, Equity-Driven Birth Doula Training!

Are you passionate about supporting families during childbirth and committed to advocating for change and equity in birth work? Our ICEA-accredited Hybrid Birth Doula Training is designed for those who believe in learning best practices, promoting fairness, and making a meaningful impact in their communities.

Training Schedule (Must attend all virtual and in-person classes)
Live Virtual Classes: 

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
• September 22 - 25 | 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM
• ZOOM Classes and Online Canvas Course 

In-Person Training:

• September 27th | 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
• Baton Rouge General - Ascension 
• 14105 LA-73, Prairieville, LA 70769

What to Expect:

• Breakfast and fellowship starts at 9:00 AM on Saturday, with class promptly at 9:30 AM. Feel free to bring a treat to share!
• Dress for comfort! Flexible, comfortable clothing like exercise attire or scrubs is ideal (no skirts or dresses unless you're planning a dance routine!). Bring an extra pair of socks, as shoes may come off for some activities.
• Coating Ceremony starts at 4:30 PM on Saturday. This is how we welcome volunteers into our network, family are welcome to come!

Training Materials and Lunch:

• We’ll provide all necessary training materials and a delicious lunch. 
• Want to help with lunch? Email us to contribute!
• Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary restrictions when registering. We'll do our best to accommodate.

ICEA Certification:
As one of our volunteers, if you’re pursuing ICEA certification, we’ll guide you every step of the way! We are thrilled to partner with ICEA to provide scholarship oppotunities to our active volunteers. ICEA certification involves:

• ICEA membership: $230
• Birth Doula Certification exam: $390 *scholarship available
  (Certification is not required to volunteer in our Community Birth Doula Network. Active volunteers are eligible to apply for exam scholarship.)

Donations and Scholarships:

• A $300 donation is suggested to cover the class cost.
• Scholarships are available to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate. Details below!
