Whether you are a trained doula, a new student, or someone who simply wants to support families in your community, there is a place for you at Mary's Hands Network. Our volunteers make free, equitable, high-quality perinatal support possible throughout Louisiana.
Every role helps. Every hour matters. Every person belongs.
Who Can Volunteer?
We welcome individuals who are:
- Passionate about maternal and infant health, equity, and community care
- 18 years or older (some roles open to high school volunteers)
- Able to commit to training, scheduling, and showing up consistently
- Doulas (trained or in training) ready to serve free of charge
- Professionals with skills to share (administrative, media, interpreting, and more)
No medical or nursing experience is required to help.

Community Birth Doula
Support pregnant women by providing non-medical informational, emotional, and physical support through pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
